Have you ever wanted to have your robot design come to life as a limited edition statue?

The Hyperchild Workshop is announcing a call for entries for its new robot statue line called MECHX1CO.

Sam King Pascal Blanche Ashley Wood William Yip

Toy design company Hyperchild Workshop is now announcing our first open call for robot designs for our upcoming polyresin statue line and want you to submit your robot design. The most voted-on of these will go on to be created and produced in physical 3D as limited edition statues for sale worldwide.

MECHXICO is the new line devoted to ROBOTS of every kind and description. Cyborgs, artificial intelligences, cyberpunks, automatons, transforming mecha - if it's somewhat mechanical in nature we want to see what you have.

Initially all entries should be of CG modeled and rendered designs. If you are a talented designer and modeler we are looking for you.

Entries should be submitted as JPGs on solid color backgrounds with a detailed turnaround image (front, side and back). Each design should have a name and a brief description of who or what it is and why it wants to get into the virtual world know as the United Republic of Mechxico, a robotic utopia for all types of robotic lifeforms.

  • The robots can be standard bipedal robots or not (but they must be able to stand as a statue)
  • They can be rusty or shiny, cute or violent, big or small, smooth or distorted
  • They can be cybernetic in style with organic parts but we want at least 70% mechanical parts
  • They can have multiple heads or no heads at all.

The sky is the limit. The only restriction is that the robots must be original and the design owned by you. The more innovative and crazy the design, the better.

From the initial entries we will then open a Robot Showdown to the public who will vote for their favorite robots. The most popular ones will be turned into limited edition metal statues, which will be sculpted and produced by Hyperchild and made available worldwide through its online e-shop HighDome.com

In addition to the creators of winning entries receiving copies of their work, there will also be a cash prize awarded to the most highly demanded robot design.

About Mechxico
In a futuristic world, after the humans have come and gone, machines will inherit the earth. But as robots evolve over time, they develop similarly to humans and a utopian city is built – one with governments, religion, armies and a caste system – it is the United Republic of Mechxico and it is a glory to behold. Each month a certain number of outsider robots are let in but they must be voted in by a group of their peers. Some will fight, some will campaign, others will entertain, but all have one goal: to enter the gates of Mechxico.

The Hyperchild Workshop is bringing the keys to statue production to the hands of the talented artists that work in computer graphic imagery by introducing the Mechxico line: a continuing series of limited edition robot statues that will showcase the very best in robot design for the world to enjoy. Submissions are being welcomed now for a line that will grow and continue over time and will be available to purchase worldwide at HighDome.com
